Since returning to campus after remote learning during COVID-19 restrictions, our dedicated Year 12 students have been busy developing their major projects. Even with the pause in their progress, our talented students are determined to complete their projects ahead of the HSC assessments in August. Here are a few highlights of their projects so far:

  • For his Major Design Project in Industrial Technology Timber, Jake is constructing a hall table from Tasmanian Blackwood. He has joined the majority of his project together and is working on a drawer that will be positioned in the middle of his top rail.
  • For their Major Projects in Textiles and Design, students develop a project that is either apparel, furnishing, costume, textile art or non-apparel.
  • For their Major Projects in Industrial Technology Multimedia, students design and produce a multimedia product of choice; this could include videos, graphic design, game design, animation and more. William is working on the development of a Virtual Reality Time Trial Driving Video Game created in Unity Engine. His car is modelled in Cinema 4d based on a 1965 Ford Mustang with custom modifications. Fabiano is working on a first person 3D video game created in Unity Engine. His game used the themse of Exploration and Horror. He has designed the maps and scenery, weather and particle systems.
  • For his Major Design Project in Industrial Technology Timber, Steven is constructing an entertainment unit out of Australian Jarrah. He has chiselled out mortises that will house one side of his shelves. The mortises were cut out using a router on a custom made template produced with our laser cutter. Steven is now at a stage where he will begin construction on his doors and drawer.
