Year 12 student, Jade, was honoured as the Clancy Catholic College Recipient of the Archbishop of Sydney’s Award for Student Excellence.
Presented by Archbishop Anthony Fisher, the Award for Student Excellence recognises those young people who give witness to their Christian values and actively contribute to the faith life of the school, Catholic parish and the wider Church community. It is presented to one Year 12 student in every secondary college in the Archdiocese of Sydney at St Mary’s Cathedral by the Archbishop himself.
JADE is an authentic witness to her faith, encouraging the Clancy community ‘To Love Like Christ.’ As a proud Darug woman and Leader of Catholic Life, she is actively involved in her Parish, College and local community, including her role as an Extraordinary Minister of Holy Communion. She seeks to nourish her personal faith through a variety of youth ministry initiatives including her Parish Youth Group, the Australian Catholic Youth Festival and World Youth Day. Jade is an integral part of College evangelisation and Indigenous initiatives, regularly leading the community in prayer and the celebration of Indigenous culture.
